INTER-PACIFIC SECURITIES SDN BHD
Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd (“IPS”) was incorporated on 30 August 1972 under the name of Malayan Traders & Co. Sendirian and subsequently assumed its present name on 30 April 1990. IPS holds a Capital Market Services licence under the Capital Market and Services Act 2007 and is a Participating Organisation of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and a Trading Participant of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad.
IPS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Inter-Pacific Capital Sdn Bhd (“IPC”), an investment holding company. IPC is in turn a subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, a company listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
IPS has a paid-up capital of RM250 million and audited shareholders’ funds of RM245 million as at 30 June 2021. Presently there is a combined headcount of approximately 400 staff, dealers and remisiers. IPS is a 1+1 broker with its principal office in Kuala Lumpur, and branch offices in Danau Desa, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Johor Bahru and Penang.
IPS is in full compliance with all regulatory requirements including capital adequacy ratios, adequacy of bumiputra licenced dealers as well as employment. We are equipped with an efficient front-end trading and back-office system to meet the ever-changing investment landscape and demanding investors’ expectations.

Dato’ Haji Abd Aziz Bin Abu Bakar
Independent Non-Executive Director
Dato’ Haji Abd Aziz, an accounting graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA, is a leading tax specialist with over 30 years of professional experience. He is the President of the Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants, a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club of Malaysia , an Islamic Financial Planner and a member of Financial Planning Association of Malaysia. He is also a member of the Board of Governors at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Member of Customs Oversight Committee under the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and Member of Economic Advisory Council – Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia.
Dato’ Hj. Abd. Aziz started his career with an International Accounting Firm doing audits, corporate recovery assignments and taxation, including income tax of multinational companies and other local medium and large corporations. Hence he has gain extensive experience in corporate and individual tax planning, tax audits, tax investigation cases, GST/SST, tax compliance and business & financial advisory matters.
He receives regular invitations to participate in dialogues and discussions with the Ministry of Finance, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department on tax issues, as well as to propose recommendations to assist in resolving direct and indirect tax issues. Apart from that, he regularly appears on local TV networks and Radio stations, local Universities to discuss issues on the economy, direct and indirect tax matters particularly Income Tax, GST, SST and Zakat.
He co-authored the book on Zakat Management and Taxation published by the Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia. He is also the Advisor for Buku Bajet & Maklumat Cukai published annually by MATA which analyses Malaysia’s Annual Federal Government Budget tabled in Parliament. He was awarded the ‘Certificate of Merit’ from World Customs Organization for rendering exceptional and distinguished contribution to the International Customs Community.
Encik Abdul Halim Bin Noordin
Independent Non-Executive Director
Encik Abdul Halim Bin Noordin was appointed to the Board of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd on 1 June 2017. He graduated from Ohio University in the United States in 1981 with a Bachelor in Administration (Hons.) In 1983, he obtained an MBA (Finance and Investment) from the George Washington University, Washington D.C.
He has more than 19 years experience in the fund management, unit trust management and stockbroking industry in companies like Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad (MIMB) and Aminvestment Bank where he was managing the Malaysian Growth Fund, a USD45 million fund meant for foreign investors.
He later joined Mayban Securities as General Manager, Dealing/Business Development in 1997 and was later assigned to Mayban Investment Management Sdn Bhd as Chief Executive/Director until 2002. He was appointed as Head of Investment Services at Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd in September 2005 and held a Fund Manager’s Representative licence.
In 2007, he became the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and launched three unit trust funds. Subsequently, in September 2007, he joined Muara Sinergi (M) Sdn Bhd as a Managing Director until December 2013.
Tan Mun Choy
Executive Director
Mr Tan is the Executive Director of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd (IPS) and is responsible for the management of the overall operations of IPS. He joined Berjaya Corporation Berhad in 1991 as Manager of Group Internal Audit. In 1993, he was transferred to IPS to be part of its senior management team. He was appointed as the Executive Director in 2013.
Prior to joining Berjaya Group of companies, he was attached with Ernst & Young for about 10 years where he was managing a portfolio of clients involving in a wide range business including trading, manufacturing, construction, property development and various financial services.
Mr Tan is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a Committee Member of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia.
Pang Poh Ping
Non-Executive Director
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Malaya in 1985. He has more than 10 years of working experience in professional accounting practice, property administration and marketing.
He has been with Berjaya Group Berhad since 1986 and was transferred to Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd in 1991 as Assistant Manager, Institutional Sales. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd in December 1994.
Ching Chun Keat
Non-Executive Director
He is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Prior to joining an investment bank specialising in corporate finance in 1993, he was attached to a medium sized audit firm. He joined the Investment Department of Berjaya Group Berhad in 1996.
He is currently the Senior General Manager, Operations of Berjaya Group. He also holds directorships in several other private limited companies. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd on 6 January 2017.
